COLORADO’S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE 4th Edition
Extensive information for over 2200 Colorado Fishing Waters!

How many times have you planned a trip to an ordinarily terrific Colorado fishing spot only to find that today it’s not so great?  Do you keep casting or just give up and go home?  Maybe you’ve been in the area, and are familiar with some other bodies of water near by that might hold fish.  If that’s the case, you will probably give those places a shot.

With our book, Colorado’s Ultimate Fishing Guidein your possession, you no longer have to rely on your memory of an area to try to save the day.  Now you have the ability to find several options of quality fishing waters near your initial choice.  Our spreadsheet format makes it simple. You just decide whether you want to tackle streams or lakes.  Maybe you’re focused on catching a particular species of fish.  With Colorado’s Ultimate Fishing Guide, you can very quickly see which of the waters near you hold that species.  The key here is speed and simplicity. No more reading through page after page of information, just to try to find what you’re looking for.

The next step is to pull out your Colorado Atlas and Gazetteer, Colorado Road and Recreation Atlas, or Mapsco's Roads of Colorado.  Find the spot you’ve chosen on the map, and you’re there.  When combining the maps of these fine publications with the specific fishing information of this guide, you have everything you need to have a wonderful time exploring new fishing waters.  You may also want to go to the map first, and then check Colorado’s Ultimate Fishing Guide to see if the spot you’ve chosen is listed.  If the body of water you find on the map isn’t listed in this guide, we could find no documented proof of fish being present.  That doesn’t mean they’re not there, but your chances of success will go up substantially if you choose waters in our fishing book.

This guide is also terrific for planning a trip.  Again, in very little time you have the ability to choose an area, and the bodies of water you want to target.  Maybe you decide to head up to Steamboat, and fish the Yampa in the morning, Stagecoach in the afternoon, and end the day on a small high elevation brookie lake.  No problem, just look in the Steamboat area of Colorado’s Ultimate Fishing Guidefor a lake that holds brook trout at a higher elevation.  You can even see if you’ll need to hike, or if the water is right next to the road.  It’s all up to you, and very simple.

Only with the web version you can sort all of these bodies of water any way you desire, and add columns for more information.  You will also find links to websites for each fishing spot with additional data, including info related to directions, topos, and aerials.  If you have previously purchased the book version of Colorado's Ultimate Fishing Guide, the purchase price will be applied to your computer file purchase.

These are just a few ideas of how to use Colorado’s Ultimate Fishing Guide.  This is a work in progress, and will be updated on a regular basis.  We truly hope you enjoy this fishing guide and appreciate your support!

Freshwater Angler's Diary

NEVER FORGET THE DETAILS OF YOUR PAST FISHING TRIPS AGAIN!

How many times have you ventured out to visit a fishing spot where you had great success in the past, only to realize you have totally forgotten what method you used to catch all those fish?

All anglers who are focused on improving their skills adjust how they go about  ensuring a successful fishing trip many times throughout their lives.  Types of flies, lures, baits, and the way they set up and retrieve are just a few things that can change radically over the years.  If you go back to a body of water that you haven’t fished in a long time, your typical method of today may be totally different than the last time you were there.

With Freshwater Angler’s Diary you have the ability to log every detail of your fishing trip.  If you commit to entering data during and after your day on the water, you will find that not only will you have information to fall back on when you have forgotten the specifics of your last time at a particular body of water, you will be able to use your Freshwater  Angler’s Diary to help you overcome less than stellar fishing conditions at other locations by going back and looking at methods you have used in the past to turn a similar tough day into gold.  Maybe the best part is that this valuable tool is pocketsized!

"Once again, I took a look at "The Ultimate Fishing Guide" last night and decided to explore early this morning. I hit several ponds in the Lakewood area: Cottonwood Lake, Harriman Lake, Jewel Park Pond ,Union Square Ponds and Green Gables Pond. I'll tell you what guys and gals, they all hold NICE LARGEMOUTH!!! I fished from 4:45AM till 10AM. I caught fish at every single area I went to. I was using a clear popper and if that was not producing at a certain pond, I switched to a 5" stickworm in Green Pumpkin, Texas rigged weightless with a 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook.(Texposed) I had never fished any of these except for Cottonwood and the nice thing was, I did not see another fisherman all morning long!"  G. From the Denver Post, August 10, 2007...

"Very frankly, it takes some effort to find places to hunt and fish," Baskfield said. "You have to do some research. It's not as easy as buying a license and driving out a county road somewhere."

"Has any one ever heard of Brush Creek lakes???  I saw some huge brookies that came from there just wanted to know where about it might be located."
"Tuck, here are the Google Earth coordinates: lat 38 12 50N long 105 42 30W  Narrowed it down real quick using Phil's Colorado Ultimate Fishing Guide... everyone needs one of these. The Excel version lets me quickly sort by name, get a web link and the coordinates are mine!  Looks like you take Hwy 198 west of Hillside, CO (down by Westcliffe) and then follow some trail roads to the southwest and then a five hour hike up to 11,500 feet. There is an Upper and Lower Brush Creek Lake. When we going? All we need is a good GPS to follow."  Tucker and Todd of Fishin' Secrets with Eric Allee  and Friends Forum
