To put your COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE to best use, we strongly recommend combining this book with either Colorado
Roads and Recreation Atlas, Mapsco's Roads of Colorado, or Delorme Colorado Atlas and Gazetteer. All of these fine
publications have excellent maps of Colorado, and many recommendations for outdoor activities. When used in conjunction with any
of these, COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE will become a treasured possession for any Colorado angler.
We believe the best way
to learn about COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE is to spend time using it. You will discover amazing new bodies of water that
are seldom, if ever, written about in other Colorado fishing books... far from the crowds found at well known bodies of water.
Our
favorite uses for COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE are during the planning stages of your trip, or in situations where you are already
at a spot that isn't producing, and need to find another body of water nearby to try. The editable version will allow you
to "sort" the data by category using Microsoft Excel, Open Office Spreadsheet, or other spreadsheet software you might have installed
on your PC.
Maybe you wake up one morning and decide you'd really like to get into some cuttroat trout at a lake you've never
tried, but don't have much time. Before COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE, choosing a likely candidate could have been a very
difficult task, but now all you have to do is sort your web version by "cuttroat", then by "type", then by "Area". Starting
at the top of the page will be all the lakes in Colorado that hold cuttroat trout, sorted by the area of the state. Just choose
a location close to home, click on the links for the lakes in that area, and you'll find more information including, in many cases,
topos and aerials. Just make your choice from these lakes, pack your stuff, and head out! We would also recommend printing
the topo, directions, or other pertinent data for your lake of choice, and others in the area, just in case the first one isn't
fishing well.
Should you already be out fishing, and decide you want to try another spot, just pull out your Gazetteer or Colorado
Road Atlas. Take a look at the bodies of water in the vicinity, and then see what the book version of COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING
GUIDE shows for those lakes and streams. We strongly recommend choosing waters that are included in our fishing book as
opposed to "throwing darts". Many Colorado waters are barren, while all those shown in COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE are
documented to have held the species listed within the last twenty years. Many are rated for "quality of fishery".
Maybe
you're driving up in the high country, and come upon a stream you're not familiar with. If you know its name, go to your printed
copy of COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE, and see what data there is. If there is no name, go to the Gazetteer or Road Atlas,
and see if you can discern which stream it is, then go to our fishing book.
There are approximately 3000 waters listed in COLORADO'S
ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE, but the list is not complete by any means. If you find a body of water that looks great, and isn't listed
in our guide, it may still hold fish. We have done the best we could to include all bodies of water documented to hold fish,
but things change from year to year. This fishing book will be updated annually, adding more fishable lakes
and streams, new species introduced, and comments regarding "quality of fishery".
Yearly web version updates are only $9.95,
but you can get them FREE, just by contributing NEW DOCUMENTED INFORMATION for 10 different Colorado bodies of water accepted to be
included in COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE. If you have questions about this program, please go to FAQ.
We sincerely
hope you enjoy COLORADO'S ULTIMATE FISHING GUIDE, and that it helps you improve your fishing success rate substantially!
